Writing

I write about openness, learning, leadership, care, institutional change, and the complicated space between what we say we value and what our practices make possible.

My writing moves between scholarship, professional practice, personal reflection, and ideas still taking shape. I’m interested in making complex ideas clear without flattening them, and in staying close to the questions that emerge from real work and lived experience.

My writing often explores:

  • openness as a relational practice

  • care, dignity, access, and participation

  • leadership and institutional change

  • communities of practice

  • learning, curriculum, and faculty development

  • educational technology and AI

  • doctoral learning and emerging scholarship

  • creativity, identity, and lived experience

At the center of much of my work is a recurring question:

How do people and institutions translate values into practices that others can actually experience?

Field Notes

This is where I write from the messy middle of scholarship, practice, and life.

You’ll find essays, reflections, emerging ideas, doctoral field notes, and occasional creative work about openness, care, leadership, learning, institutional change, and the relationships that shape all of them.

I don’t publish on a rigid schedule. I write when I have something worth sharing.

Invite Me to Write

I welcome invitations to contribute essays, articles, book chapters, commentary, reports, toolkits, curricula, and collaborative writing projects.

I’m especially interested in work that connects scholarship with practice, makes room for complexity, and helps people understand or apply ideas in meaningful ways. This may include writing for educators, leaders, librarians, institutions, nonprofits, publishers, and community organizations.

Possible projects include:

  • essays, articles, and book chapters

  • curriculum and instructional materials

  • courses, modules, and professional learning content

  • facilitator guides and learning activities

  • toolkits, reports, and open educational resources

  • interviews, commentary, and editorial contributions

  • collaborative and commissioned writing

My curriculum work can include concept development, learning outcomes, instructional sequencing, content writing, activities, assessments, facilitator materials, and accessibility-minded revision. I’m particularly drawn to projects involving open education, leadership, learning design, faculty development, care, community, and institutional change.

Have an idea that is still taking shape? You do not need to have every detail figured out. Share what you know so far, and we can determine whether the project is a good fit.
